The 5.56 BDC Dot (Bullet Drop Compensating) sighting reticle was developed for the AR/M4 platform shooting standard 5.56/.223 or 7.62x51mm/.308WIN ammunition. It consists of an illuminated central point surrounded by a 'horseshoe' to facilitate quick aiming at short range, and scales indicating an approximate point of impact that takes into account bullet drop.

The collimator has a durable, waterproof and shockproof housing, made of high-quality aluminum. The interior is additionally filled with nitrogen to prevent evaporation. The optics have been coated with anti-reflective coatings (Multi-Coated) to minimize unwanted reflections and loss of light passing through the optics.
The model is also equipped with an automatic shut-off function and motion sensor which awakens the device from sleep mode.
