The gas replica of the HK417 assault rifle was made almost entirely of metal. This material was used for the body, barrel, magazine, foregrip and flask guide. Only pistol grip and flask were made of plastic. The carbine was created under license from the manufacturer of the flammable original, so it bears the official markings Heckler&Koch.The HK417 D features a long 22mm dorsal RIS rail for mounting optics and RIS rails on the front grip for seating tactical accessories.
